What is shoulder pain?
Shoulder pain is common and is typically felt around the front, side or back of the shoulder, going into the rotator cuff.
Causes of shoulder pain
Usually shoulder pain is multifactorial and can manifest as a symptom of another issue, for example in the cervical spine, neck or the surrounding musculature. It can also come from the joint, tendons, soft tissue or bones of the area.
Can chiropractic care help with shoulder pain?
Chiropractic may be able to help your shoulder pain by treating the specific area or the neck, if that is where it is coming from. We would find this out through an assessment to see if we believe it would be best suited to be treated by our chiropractor or in house acupuncturists.
For shoulder pain; treatment with us at Purelands Chiropractic could include specific chiropractic adjustments to the cervical spine, shoulder, scapula, jaw/TMJ, Cervico-thoracic junction and the upper ribs. Furthermore, as a part of a whole body approach, we would also ensure that stress in other areas of the spine, and your sensory system, is looked after. Allowing your body to be at its optimal and giving you and your body the best chance to heal.
